Learning New Things

Jerry is really moving fast.  When we are in the basement he goes right for the stairs.  So far he has only been able to climb up one step.  There is no way we could put a gate up in the basement so we have to really keep an eye on him.  He is starting to pull himself up on furniture now too.  I still think he is a long way off from walking because when we hold his hands and walk, he is really wobbly.  He also just started making that smacking noise with his mouth.

Behind Bars

Well, it doesn't look like he likes his crib anymore.  Cowley thought it was interesting to see Jerry in a cage.  But it didn't take long for him to cry it out and he was asleep, which will make our lives so much easier if we can put him in his crib and know that he will be okay and can't get out.  He is a fast mover.  It doesn't take long and he is across the room or in a different room.  He loves to follow the cats around.

Standing Tall

So we tried lowering the crib...some, not all the way and to our surprise Jerry can pull himself all the way up.  He is now standing in his crib.  So we get to lower it even more.  He thought it was pretty neat that he could do that...we did too :-)

Spring Break in Holly

It was Aunt Jenna's spring break so we went to Holly for the week.  Actually, Grandma Kalma and Great Grandma Alice came and got me and Jerry last weekend.  He did really good riding in his car seat down there.  I was very happy.  The weather was perfect the entire week.  We had so much fun with the family.  I didn't realize how much of a mama's boy Jerry was until we were around a lot of people.  It made me a little worried, but as the week went on he got used to being passed around and played good with other kids.

Jerry got to spend time with his Grandpa in the shop watching him work on his motorcycle.  You can see several pictures of Jerry and Grandpa in the slideshow.  Grandpa and Daddy are getting him prepared to ride motorcycles with them when he is older.  Makes mom nervous!

We got to see Grandma's new office and meet all of the girls that she works with.  They all loved Jerry.  He was a little overwhelmed but got over it and started to flirt a little with them.

Jerry loved being with his Aunt Jenna.  I almost think he thought she was me some of the time.  He fell asleep in her arms several times and loved playing with her.

Jerry got to meet his Great Aunt Tracie and Uncle Jess this time.  And cousins Cari and Ava and Jeremiah.  Cari just found out she is expecting another girl in August.  Jerry and Ava had fun playing together.  She is 19 1/2 months old and she and Jerry are the same size.  He weighs a few pounds more than her.  It was really cute watching them play together.  He also got to play with a few of his little friends, Cael Schwab and Heaven and also cousins Caleb and Cooper.

Jerry had a few firsts over the week, like seeing a dog.  I never thought about it but he has only been around our cats and wasn't sure what to think about Harley.  He's a big dog and he scared Jerry at first but by the end of the week he was really interested in him and got to pet him.  He also got to see baby pigs.  Caleb and Cooper got 3 little pigs for pets.  They were so cute.  Jerry also got an upset tummy one night.  His food just didn't settle in his tummy and he woke up throwing up all over the bed and me.  I was a little freaked out by it since I had never seen him actually vomit.  But afterward he was fine.  He just had to get it out of his system.  Poor Grandma had a mess all over her bed.

It was  a really good week, but by the end of it we were ready to come home and see Jake (Daddy).  We missed him and I think he really missed us too.

Your Gonna Fall...

So Jerry is growing a little too fast for Mom and Dad.  I can't believe he is 7 months old.  He's gonna be a year old before we know it.  The only thing that seems to be growing right now is his tummy.  He is still 27 in long, head is still 17 but he weighs 20 lbs.

He just figured out how to look over his bed.  I'm scared he will tumble out of it if we don't watch him.  Actually, I'm sure he would.  Looks like we will have to lower his bed.  He is still army crawling but will get up on his hands and knees and rock back and forth, it's really cute.  I'm trying to get it on video but never catch him at the right time.

He is definitely a mama's boy.  Yes, I have spoiled him but who wouldn't.  I don't care though, I want him with me all the time and when he's not with me, I miss him.  I only have him this little once and I'm loving every second.  It won't be long and he will want to do everything with his dad.  I know he will love all of the same things as Jake.  He loves loud noises and isn't afraid of much.

Jerry and I will be in Holly for a week visiting family.  It's Aunt Jenna's spring break so we will get to spend a lot of time with her.  Cousin Cari and her daughter Ava will be there at the end of the week.  I have never met her daughter and she hasn't met Jerry so that will be fun.  Ava is a year older than Jerry and will have a new little brother or sister soon.

When we get back we will have lots of pictures to post.

Just like Daddy

Jerry loves loud noises and when he first heard the motorcycle he said ooh ooh.  This time Daddy put Jerry on the motorcycle and then started it.  Jerry loved it.

Loves from Daddy

Daddy just got home from work and couldn't wait to love up on his boy.
Jerry's hair is really starting to come in so now I can style it.

Messy Eater

Jerry is learning to use a spoon and is a little messy.  We also gave him a sippy cup to see what he thought of it and he likes to chew on it but hasn't figured out how to get the milk out.
We'll keep practicing.

Our trip to the zoo

We took Jerry to the zoo today since it was so beautiful out, about 80 degrees.  He wasn't very interested in any of the animals, just watching the other kids and chewing on the cold water bottle.  The zoo was really busy.  It was a nice nature walk and Jake and I decided we could wait to go back until he is about 2 or 3 years old.  Check out more pictures in the slideshow.

Cont.

Turn up the volume and you can hear him snoring.  He even wakes himself up for a second.

Falling Asleep while Eating

Jerry decided to wake up at 5 a.m. and after a long morning of playing I fed him some plum around 8:30.  By then he was really tired and ready for his nap.  I had to hold his head up while I took him out of the high chair - he was sound asleep and snoring.

My new wall of pictures

I'm so excited, we finally got all of the pictures up on this wall.  It used to have a metal art piece there that we moved to the basement.  I love seeing these pictures everyday.

Jerry's Twin

Who is that cute boy in the mirror?
He keeps copying me.
What are you looking at?
I love you!!!

Feed Me!

Grandma and Grandpa got to feed Jerry and were surprised on how much he could eat.

More Fun

Spending more time with Grandma and Grandpa.

Playing with Daddy

Jerry loves playing with Daddy.  It's so cute and Jerry talks and makes funny noises when they wrestle around.

New Toy

Jerry got a new toy from Grandma and Grandpa.  He loves loud noises and this toy makes lots of noise.  Jerry does really well figuring out how to use each knob, button and wheel.  He even figured out how to turn it on and off on his own.
Thanks Grandma and Grandpa!!!

Grandma and Grandpa Kalma came to visit

Grandma and Grandpa Kalma came to visit Jerry for the weekend.  Jerry had so much fun playing with Grandpa and loving up to Grandma.  They got him a new book and Jerry loved it.  It was a fun weekend but it goes by way to fast.
