First time to the dentist

We've talked about it all summer...once Jerry turns 3 he gets to go to school and to the dentist.  He has been so excited for both.  I told him the dentist was going to make his teeth all shiny and clean.
He did amazingly well.  The dental hygienist was great with him.  They have him watch a cute video first explaining everything to him and then she showed him all of the tools and how they worked before using them on him.  The only thing he didn't like was when she raised and lowered the chair.
The good news is that there are NO cavities!!!

2nd Day of School

Jerry's second day of school went a little better.  There were no tears but he still clung to me and when I left he was again asking where his mom was.  But this time when I picked him up he seemed a little upset and almost started crying.  The teacher said he has done really well and is very quiet.  I know that will change in time though.  He says he likes school and wants to go back so hopefully tomorrow will go even better.

In his new shirt from Aunt Jenna - he call it a ceratops.
He loves dinosaurs.

1st Day of School

Jerry started pre-school today.  He has been asking me all summer to take him to school but starting yesterday he had a change of heart and decided he didn't want to go.  So I wasn't too sure how today was going to go.

He was excited to take his back pack and school supplies with him in the car.  He called it his school pack and supplies.  He told me he would show me how to get to his school.  He's very good at remembering places we have been.  On our way there he said he misses his home and wants to go back. When we get there the parking lot is full so I park next door and Jerry had to tell me "this isn't my school mom, it's over there." We walk up to the school and there is another mom trying to get a picture of her child and he wasn't having it, I felt for her and was happy Jerry was doing okay...so far.  We go in and I take him to his class and a teacher helps him hang his back pack up then takes him over to the floor mat where all the other kids are sitting and asks Jerry to pick out a honey bee to sit on.  He then grabs onto me and doesn't want to let go.  The teacher said to just say good bye and leave and that he would be fine.  So I give him a hug and tell him to go play with the other kids and he starts crying.  The teacher has to pry him from me.  I walk out and hear him crying and saying where's my mom.  I start crying and just had to leave.  This isn't how I pictured this moment happening.

Having 3 hours to myself now I decided to get some running around done, which was really nice.  I have to admit though, I really missed my little guy.  I couldn't wait to pick him up to see how his day went.  I pick him up at 11:30 and the teacher tells me he did really well.  She said he was fast, which I didn't get to ask her what that really meant because it was kinda hectic with all the kids running to their parents.  I waited for Jerry to come to me and finally one of the last ones, he then tells me he doesn't want to go, he wants to stay at school.  This made me happy so hopefully next time will go a little smoother and without any tears.

All ready for school.

Part of his classroom.

After school.  He doesn't want to leave.

Happy 3rd Birthday!!!

Jerry turned 3 on Monday and we celebrated his birthday this last weekend with friends and family.  It was so much fun. We celebrated with an ice cream themed party...ice cream sundaes with all the toppings, ice cream cone cupcakes and root beer floats.

Jerry had all of his friends over and he had so much fun playing with them.  My whole family was able to be here which was great.  We always have so much fun together.

He got lots of fun toys and Grandpa surprised him after the party and gave him a trunk full of matchbox cars.  There were probably 50+ cars in the trunk.  Jerry had lots of fun opening up those packages.

 Me and the birthday boy!!!

And now that he is 3 he will get to finally go to school.  He's only been asking me all summer to take him.  He starts Monday morning at 8:30 and goes until 11:30.  I don't think he will have any problem leaving me but I on the other hand may be a little emotional.  I'm having mixed feelings about it, a little happy because I know he will have so much fun but sad that he is just growing up way too fast.
