Jacob and I have been so blessed with Jerry. He is such an amazing little boy that has forever changed our lives in the greatest way. Things in life can be taken for granted so easily. After I had the miscarriage, it really opened my eyes to what a miracle Jerry really is. That he is healthy and here!
We know he would make such a great big brother and definitely want more children. We have continually been trying since the miscarriage to conceive but things don't always work out as you plan so we have started to look in other directions to extend our family.
We have always talked about adoption and recently have taken it more seriously. We took the next step and hired a social worker. We had a home study done a few weeks ago which went very well. For the home study we had to have background checks, get finger printed, doctor's clearance, and reference letters from persons outside our family. We just received our home study reports which have recommended us for adoption. Yay!!!
We were looking into working with an agency but after talking with our social worker we are considering just hiring an attorney. We have not yet taken the step in filing an actual application to adopt but that is the next step.
I have been working on an adoption profile for our family, which is like our family's resume. It is what the birthmother will see first to choose who she may want to have adopt her child. Of course she will have several to look at so it makes the chances of getting picked harder. What makes us more worthy than others to raise and love her child. That's a big decision for anyone to make.
So this is where we are on our growing family.
We are still trying for more children but we wanted to get the adoption process started because we know we want to adopt and you never know how long it will take.
We want people to know that we would like to adopt, it can only better our chances of finding a child that needs a loving home. Our first concern is that it has to be fair to Jerry so we want a healthy infant but we are open on either a male or female of any race or combination of race.
As soon as I get our adoption profile finished I will post it on here.
