Our Growing Family

Jacob and I have been so blessed with Jerry.  He is such an amazing little boy that has forever changed our lives in the greatest way.  Things in life can be taken for granted so easily.  After I had the miscarriage, it really opened my eyes to what a miracle Jerry really is.  That he is healthy and here!

We know he would make such a great big brother and definitely want more children.  We have continually been trying since the miscarriage to conceive but things don't always work out as you plan so we have started to look in other directions to extend our family.

We have always talked about adoption and recently have taken it more seriously.  We took the next step and hired a social worker.  We had a home study done a few weeks ago which went very well.  For the home study we had to have background checks, get finger printed, doctor's clearance, and reference letters from persons outside our family.  We just received our home study reports which have recommended us for adoption. Yay!!!

We were looking into working with an agency but after talking with our social worker we are considering just hiring an attorney.  We have not yet taken the step in filing an actual application to adopt but that is the next step.

I have been working on an adoption profile for our family, which is like our family's resume.  It is what the birthmother will see first to choose who she may want to have adopt her child.  Of course she will have several to look at so it makes the chances of getting picked harder.  What makes us more worthy than others to raise and love her child.  That's a big decision for anyone to make.

So this is where we are on our growing family.
We are still trying for more children but we wanted to get the adoption process started because we know we want to adopt and you never know how long it will take.
We want people to know that we would like to adopt, it can only better our chances of finding a child that needs a loving home.  Our first concern is that it has to be fair to Jerry so we want a healthy infant but we are open on either a male or female of any race or combination of race.

As soon as I get our adoption profile finished I will post it on here.

Photo Shoot at Home

My little guy is about to turn 3 and we needed some new pics.  So I dressed him up and tried to get some good ones.  He is all about saying cheese now which sometimes makes his smile look funny and it's still hard to get him to stay still longer than 2 seconds so these are the pics we ended up with.  Even the flub ups are still cute though.

I can't believe how fast these 3 years have gone.  I have been talking to him about his birthday, it's a big one because a week after he turns the big 3 he starts pre-school and he also gets to go to his first dentist appointment.  He tells me all the time that he wants to go to school and to the dentist - I should record him saying it for when he is older.

This little boy holds the key to my heart!

Happy 4th of July

We hope Great Gran also had a wonderful birthday!!!
We love you lots!!!
We hope everyone had a wonderful and safe 4th of July.
Our weekend was a lot of FUN!  Uncle Josh & Aunt Amber stayed with us and our friends Kasey & Kelly Jenkinson and their two boys, Jack and Jace were in town and got to spend a lot of time with us.
Jerry didn't like the fireworks at first but his daddy got him warmed up to the small ones, the snaps that you throw on the ground.  He went through several boxes of those.  But when the big fireworks started at night he wanted nothing to do with them until finally on the 4th we slowly got him outside to watch them and he decided they weren't so bad which was a good thing because the boys and our neighbors put on a good show.

Jerry has so much fun with his Aunt Amber & Uncle Josh.  And he and Jack have become good buddies.  I'm just sorry that I didn't get any pics with Kasey's family.   I've been bad about that lately:(
Jerry has gotten to be such a picky eater but with Uncle Josh's help he got a full belly at dinner.
