A change in color!

I know I said that I went blonde last time, but really it was just a few highlights. This time, I really went blonde. The picture still looks dark but it's a lot lighter. It matches Jerry's a little better.

More Projects

I finally made a wreath for my new black front door.
Again, I went with the moss and I hung it with black burlap:)
And I found this rug at Hobby Lobby.
I meant to get a picture before we started on this project but rather got it in the process. This will be our new buffet. We started sanding it down yesterday. More pictures of it will come.

Milk Mustache

Jerry still won't drink milk for me. But...the other night we were at Kourtney's and Lainie wanted some milk, Jerry was following her everywhere and really watched her drinking her milk and tried to take her cup so I gave Jerry a little milk in his cup and he drank it all. I was shocked and happy. He loves Medaris, Kerigan and Lainie and I think he really looks up to them and feels like a big boy when he gets to play with them.

Unfortunately, he will still not drink milk for me at home but I made a smoothie with milk and he did enjoy it.

Boys & Dirt

Jerry just loves being outside. It amazes me how dirty he gets.
Dirt is attracted to him or is he just attracted to dirt ~ I think it's both!
He loves to dig so I finally got him his own plastic spade. He likes to put the mulch in the grass or dig in my empty flower pots and throw the dirt on the ground. Jacob and I have decided to get him a sandbox - we're thinking the little turtle on with the lid. It's so funny the stuff you by your kids - I always thought I would never get that kinda stuff but you do most anything to make the little ones happy. Our house is definitely a kid zone now.

Family Update

We had a very productive yesterday. Jacob and I had physicals in the morning. I have been dreading this because I hate (HATE) giving blood. But the nurse actually did a great job and the only good thing was that her scale said I weighed 3 lbs less than the one at Jacob's clinic. I was liking that:) Then Daddy and Jerry got their haircut. I tagged along this time and I was so proud of Jerry, he sat there like such a big boy. I know that he will always be my baby but sadly he really isn't a baby anymore :(

We did some more running around and had to get a kid proof lock for our outlet that we have our computer plugged into. It is the only thing plugged in that he can get to and has unplugged it about 4 times while it has been on. I hate the thought of him playing with outlets. So that problem got fixed today.

Then he took a really good nap in the morning. He went down with no problem and slept about 1.5 hours. He woke up happy and we all played outside (I washed all of the windows and Jacob mowed the lawn and we both chased after Jerry). When it was time for Jerry's afternoon nap Jacob put him down so I could finish a few things and it wasn't long and we heard a door open and then out runs Jerry into the living room like no big deal, here I am. Jacob and I look at each other and I'm thinking oh no, I am in so much trouble. Jacob put him back in his bed and watched him crawl right back out of it in nothing flat. So to resolve this issue we took out all of the bumpers and turned the bed around so the lower end is toward the wall which did seem to stop him from crawling out...for now.

I just can't believe how fast he has grown up. I watch him with amazement everyday. I can't believe he is my little boy. What a miracle! He is the center of our world and the best thing that has ever happened to us. I love being a mom.

I haven't been working on any of my projects latelty but I have added about 10 more things to my "want to make/do list". I just have so many ideas and not enough me time to work on them. My latest...I purchased new (to me) furniture from Craigslist - a dresser & mirror, night stand and chest of drawers. I have been searching for a few pieces for our house and was so excited when I found what I wanted. I will get pictures of it soon. Yay, I am so excited. The furniture is old and needs some loving, which for now I plan on only re-finishing the dresser. I am going to use the dresser as a buffet in my dining room and I have a different mirror that I framed a long time ago that will go above it. The rest of the furniture will go in the basement in what I call my craft room and I will use it until we have our next baby then it will go in their room.

My latest creation

Finally finished...Yay!
Jacob bought an old wine barrel off of craigslist that we are going to use in the basement as a table. This will hang above it. I printed off the H monogram on cardstock and cut it out to have a stencil and did the same with the other letters. It took me awhile and then I painted them on burlap. I'm loving burlap :)

My only regret is that I wish I would have made the monogram a little lighter brown so our name stood out more. But I think it still turned out good. I will just have to remember that for my next ones. Jacob wants a burlap sign in his safe room/vault/mans room and I plan on making another (bigger) surprise for our family room upstairs. Hopefully it turns out like I imagine it.

I will get more pictures once we have it hung up:)

Daddy's Boy

Jerry is going to be glued to his daddy's side. We went to the garden/sandpit this morning and Daddy let Jerry drive the truck once we were there. Max played in the water and Jerry threw rocks in the water. Several geese came close to us thinking they were going to get fed and Jerry liked seeing them. He called them goo (rather than goose) - another word he doesn't say the end of.

Playing Outside

Jerry loves being outside. First thing in the morning now he brings me his shoes. He is ready to go.
I'm trying to get pictures of him but I have to do it so he doesn't see me otherwise he wants the camera. And oops, he spotted me.
But momma, I want it.
Playing in the field.
The whole time he was barefoot and by time he got in the bath the poor guy had a couple of stickers and a few scraps but it never phased him.
This boy loves playing in the dirt and throwing rocks.

Mmm...that's refreshing

We spent most of yesterday outside. Jerry and I gave Max a bath in the morning and then Daddy came home for lunch and played with us. Max needed a drink so Jacob turned the faucet on for him, which intrigued Jerry. He is very observant and picks up on a lot. He's just an amazing little boy who is growing up so fast.
