Projects

Our newly tiled bathroom.  Love it!!!

We got some old barn wood from Jacob's friend Oggie.   Jacob cut the wood down for me and I made a sign for above our dining room mirror and we put 5 pieces together to put above the buffet and I hung a wreath I made from it.  I have lots of ideas for this barn wood.  It's one of my new favorite things!

Oh, I forgot to add that I recently got a silhouette which makes crafting so much easier.  It's a machine that I can hook up to my computer and send almost anything to it and it will cut it out for me.  It's awesome!  I used it to make the stencil for the sign and have so many ideas for more.

What we've been up to

Well let's see...the weather was nice for a while so we started working in the yard.  Jacob is building us 2 raised vegetable garden beds, which I am very excited about.  I got some tomato plants started and they are now about 2.5 inches tall.  We are going to have tomatos, pepper, onions, cucumbers, yellow squash, zuchinni, pumpkins, carrots and herbs.  The perfect garden for making lots of salsa and hopefully we'll get some good jars of tomatos canned.  I can't wait!

My sister came to visit for a few days before she starts work.  It's always fun having her here with us.  Jerry loves it.  He would wake up first thing in the morning and ask for her and would want to wake her up.  She didn't get to sleep in much.  Last Wednesday I took Jerry to Holly for a week.  Jenna also went down and stayed there too.  It was nice spending time with the family.  Jerry had a lot of fun.  He got a haircut from Aunt Amber, which makes him look like such a big boy.  He got to watch his cousins Caleb and Cooper wrestle and then he got to go fishing with them.  Jerry thought that was pretty fun.  Caleb helped Jerry real in a few fish and a couple sticks too.  He loved fishing but didn't like touching the fish, he would say yucky.  We also went out to Aunt Linda's house for an afternoon.  That's always fun since she has chickens, cows, horses and lots of cats.  Jerry even got to collect eggs from the chicken coop.  Linda taught us how to make her yummy pizza (my favorite) and we all enjoyed a few slices.  Jerry also spent an afternoon with Uncle Josh and Aunt Amber terrorizing their cat and Waldo (their little dog).  He always has fun with them.

It was a great week seeing family and friends but Daddy was ready to see his little boy (and me).  He said it felt like we were gone a month.  We were ready to see him too.  He had a few surprises for us when we got home.  He put tile in Jerry's bathroom and got me a new iphone.  We had carpet in the bathroom before and this just wasn't going to work having a little boy around so now I'm going to start working with him on standing when he goes potty.  (I'll be stocking up on cherrios!)  The bathroom looks great, I was really impressed.  I'll get pictures and post them soon.  And I love my new iphone:)  But the best part of all was just coming home to a loving husband and father.  Jerry was very excited to see his Daddy.  A week did feel like a month without Jacob.

Our boy is growing up

It's official...Jerry is signed up to start Pre-school on August 15th.  I can't believe how fast he has grown up.  He will be going 3 half days. We signed him up at Honey Tree Academy, which is ran by all teachers.  It is an amazing place.  I took him there today to turn in the paperwork and he didn't want to leave.  I know he is going to love it.

The website is:  www.honeytreeacademy.com in case anyone wants to check it out.

On his Toot Scoot
On his new Strider

Jerry also got a new bike today.  He outgrew his toot scoot so we moved up to a strider, which has no peddles so they push themselves on it and it helps them learn how to balance so learning how to ride a bicycle should be a lot easier.  It is also more rugged so he can ride it in the field behind our house.  Now we just need some nice days so he can ride it outside.  We had rain yesterday so its all muddy outside but today is supposed to be a high of 50 so we might make it out to the front yard.

He's getting better at letting me take pictures of him.  He was posing in these pics and saying cheese.
