Kansas Weather

We had a big hail storm come through yesterday.  It was the largest hail we had ever seen.  It did some damage to the roof and a little to the siding on the house but thankfully no broken windows.  Unfortunately, Jacob was still at work so his truck has a few dings on it.  

It left a lot of big holes in the yard.

Fun in the Country

We were back in Holly for the weekend and got to go to Uncle Casey and Aunt Jo's house.  

Jerry got to play with Cooper and he saw cows, horses and goats.

Big News turned to Sad News

I wasn't sure how I would go about this but as I look back at old posts I think I should update everyone on the pregnancy.  Sadly things were not developing as they should and I had a miscarriage at 9 weeks.  I am feeling better physically and emotionally.  Thankfully I have a wonderful husband and a lot of family and friends who have been very supportive. 

Friends

We went to Jackson's house last night for dinner and got to play on the swings.  

He and Jackson have so much fun playing together and they get along so good. 

They were also very entertaining for the adults too.

My Birthday & Our Anniversary

My Birthday was last Monday.  Jacob was a sweetheart and sent me flowers.  Aren't they beautiful.  I love the colors.  Our friend Tennille watched Jerry that night for us so we could go out to dinner.  We went to our favorite Thai restaurant and the food was wonderful.  Jerry had lots of fun playing with his friend Jackson that he didn't even miss us.

Today is our 7th Anniversary.  We have been together for 14 years.  It's been amazing!  I married my best friend and I love him more and more every day.  I am very thankful for the life we share.  We have been very blessed and I look forward to many many more years together.

Summer Fun

We were in Holly over the weekend.

Zoo Trip

The weather here has been beautiful so I thought it would be a good time to revisit the zoo, plus most kids are back in school so it wouldn't be too busy:)

Jerry was such a good boy for me, which made it fun for both of us:)

He though the big turtles were pretty neat.

One of his favorite movies to watch is The Jungle Book.  He started growling when he saw the lion and bear.  Although he called the lions kitties.

Jerry's 2nd Birthday

Our little boy turned 2 on Sunday.  

It's amazing how fast he has grown and changed.

We celebrated his birthday on Saturday with lots of friends and Grandma and Grandpa Kalma and Aunt Amber and Uncle Josh.

Jerry had so much fun opening his presents and playing with his friends.  

I love watching him get excited about new things.  He has so many expressions, it's cute.

Thank you everyone for all that you did for Jerry.  

We are very blessed to have such a great family and friends.

Grandma and Grandpa Holdren and Great Gran gave Jerry a Rody.  It was a big hit with all of the kids.

BIG News

Jerry is going to be a BIG brother in April. 
We are so excited!

We found out on Jacob's birthday - what a great gift!

Pee...

it's the main subject in our house right now.  We have been working on potty training for awhile now.  Jerry has gone #2 in the potty 3 times and #1 numerous times just not on a regular basis.  He refuses to wear a diaper for me at home.  It comes off within seconds of putting it on him ~ frustrating.  So I have been putting him in big boy pants but he will still occasionally wet them so then I tried the underwear over the diaper but it still didn't work - the diaper comes right off.  When all else failed I put him in a swim diaper and this works for a while but is too expensive to keep doing.  I have to admit I am hating potty training.  I am sure he'll get it down pretty soon since he hates wearing a diaper but geesh I am tired of cleaning up pee.  

Image Transferring

I have been wanting to try this out for a long time now...image transfer onto canvas.  I thought I would start out small on a 5x5 canvas.  It's basically printing out a picture on regular paper and pasting it onto canvas with acrylic medium, letting it dry then wetting the paper and rubbing it off and it leaves the ink print on the canvas.  I then brushed it with some watered down brown paint to make it look a little older.

My goal is to replace the pictures I have in our dining room with canvas pictures of Jerry.  These are going to be a little harder since they are larger but I am excited to try it out.

Fun Night

Saturday night we went to the Sedgwick County Fair in Cheney and watched the demolition derby with Cory and Kourtney and their kids.  I was a little nervous about the noise and if Jerry would be okay with it since he hated the fireworks this year but with the earplugs he didn't mind it at all.
