Trip to Holly

I took my first road trip alone with Jerry this last weekend to Holly. I was extremly nervous for the drive but overall he did good. He cried a total of about 45 minutes and we only stopped once for a stinky diaper change (hince part of the crying). Of course I left right before his nap time and he slept for a few hours.

It was my 10 year class reunion and it was fun seeing everyone but it was more fun seeing Jerry with the family. He has changed so much and is so active. Grandma and Grandpa got to babysit Jerry on Friday until about 1 am and Saturday night until about 9 pm. They both were exhausted but Jerry did good for them despite some crying, which Grandpa told me he could hear from outside the house. They told me that I have my hands full with this little boy. They just forget that they did it once too...younger even and with more rowdy kids:0)

Jerry had so much fun tearing up Grandma's house. He found her tupperware cabinet and had it emptyed all over the kitchen floor. He loved rolling the oranges around the entire house and had toys strung out everywhere. I unfortunatly did not get pictures of the house but I should have (Grandma might not have liked that).

This trip Jerry really liked Harley and got lots of kisses from him. He got to ride the lawn mower with Grandpa and loved it. He really liked being outside and got to play in the dirt for the first time and loved it. He loved playing with the rocks in the yard and kept wanting to eat them, which made it a pain for everyone since we had to keep and extra close eye on him. He got to play in the pretty green grass and wasn't too sure about that feeling on his feet. I laid him down in the grass and he wouldn't move and just started crying.

We planned on coming back home on Tuesday but I woke up not feeling good so we waiting until Wednesday. Again I was really nervous for the drive and waited until Jerry's nap time. He slept all the way to Greensburg and the cried for about 10 minutes until we stopped in Pratt and then he cried for about 20 minutes and slept the rest of the way. Surprisingly he did much better than I thought he would. Jerry was so happy when he saw his daddy. He smiled for a long time and only wanted him for awhile - it was cute.
